1983年、自動車コレクターを対象にクラシックカー販売を目的とした催しとしてパドヴァ(ヴェネチアから西へ35km ミラノへはクルマで3時間弱)でスタート。次第に自身の作り出した自動車の歴史をヘリテージとして守ろうとするメーカーの共感を呼び、1990年にサローネのスタイルを取るようになった。現在ではインターナショナル・レベルでの名声を高め、なかでもヘリテージカーの部門ではヨーロッパ最大、ビジターの数、参加車両、販売台数とも年々増加する。またパドヴァ市との結びつきも強く、イベント開催中は中心街のショップがウインドウをイベントのテーマに合わせてデコレート。広場ではメーカー主催のオーナーズ・ミーティングが行われるなど開催中は会場外もイベントを盛り上げる。1983年当時のビジターは1万人、1990年は2万人、2007年5万人、2015年は9万人を記録、同年の展示車は4500台、出展者はメーカーも含め1600、パビリオン数は11。主催はINTEEMEETING、2017年は10月26日から29日まで、FIERA DI PADOVAにて開催。

Created in 1983 as a classic car market for collectors, Auto e Moto d'Epoca is held in Padua, 35km west of Venice – a 3-hour drive from Milan. As automakers realized that a new model’s desirability was rooted in the marque's heritage, the event format switched in 1990 to a more formal "salone" (hall) exhibition style. Today Auto e Moto d'Epoca is internationally renowned for its heritage car section, Europe’s largest, with visitors, exhibitors, and vehicles – both marketplace and reference models – increasing over the years. The town of Padua itself is deeply involved, as downtown shops decorate their windows with event related motifs. The lovely squares of Padua serve as additional venues for automaker-hosted owner meetings and other attractions during Auto e Moto d'Epoca. The numbers speak for themselves: 10,000 visitors in 1983, 20,000 in 1990, 50,000 in 2007, and 90,000 in 2015. Also in 2015, the event exhibited 4,500 cars from 1,600 exhibitors. including automakers, in 11 pavilions. Organized by Intermeeting S.r.l., the next Auto e Moto d'Epoca will be held at Fiera di Padova Exhibition Center from 26th to 29th October 2017.
